1. Service description
1.1. What GhostGuard does
GhostGuard provides informational security warnings about potentially unsafe websites, domains, and links, including phishing, impersonation, scam, and other malicious or suspicious destinations.
1.2. Link/domain analysis
GhostGuard analyzes URLs, domains, and redirect chains and may display a risk level or warning before you interact with a page or enter sensitive information.
1.3. Webmail analysis and link checks
GhostGuard may analyze links shown in webmail interfaces to warn about potentially unsafe destinations. In addition, with your explicit permission, GhostGuard may analyze email text (for example, subject line and/or message text visible in the webmail interface) solely to identify phishing and impersonation patterns and to provide security warnings.
GhostGuard does not read or store email content or message bodies by default, and any email text analysis is performed only for security purposes.
1.4. No guarantee of complete protection
Security threats evolve. GhostGuard does not guarantee that it will detect or prevent all fraud, phishing, malware, or other threats, or that warnings will be accurate in all cases.
2. Privacy and data principles
2.1. Privacy-first approach
GhostGuard is designed to be privacy-first: no tracking, no selling data, and no reading email content.
2.2. Email content
GhostGuard never collects or stores email content. If you grant explicit permission for email text analysis, GhostGuard analyzes the permitted email text only to provide security warnings and does not use such content for advertising or profiling.
2.3. Permissions
The extension may request browser permissions needed to analyze websites/links, display warnings, and (if you choose) analyze permitted webmail content. Permissions vary by browser and version. You can review requested permissions in the relevant browser store listing before installing and can control certain permissions through browser settings.
3. Eligibility
You must be legally capable of entering into these Terms under applicable law.
If you use GhostGuard on behalf of an organization, you represent that you have authority to bind that organization to these Terms.
4. License and acceptable use
4.1. License
Subject to these Terms, we grant you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to install and use GhostGuard for your internal, personal, or business use.
4.2. You agree not to
- misuse, disrupt, interfere with, or attempt to gain unauthorized access to the Service;
- circumvent, disable, or attempt to bypass detection, risk scoring, or warning mechanisms;
- reverse engineer, decompile, disassemble, or attempt to extract source code or models from the Service (except where such restriction is prohibited by law);
- use GhostGuard for illegal, harmful, or abusive purposes.
4.3. Compliance
You are responsible for ensuring your use of GhostGuard complies with applicable laws, regulations, and third-party terms (including your browser’s terms and policies).
5. Warnings, decisions, and responsibility
5.1. Informational indicators only
GhostGuard provides risk indicators and warnings. You remain responsible for your actions, including deciding whether to proceed to a website, enter credentials, or provide payment details.
